New Years Resolutions...

I went for a walk, and I've eaten healthily today (practising really!) except for a few wine gums!
My resolutions for 2010 are: (in no particular order!)

1.Lose weight
2.Eat healthily
3.Exercise at least three times a week
4.Sort out my 'work/life balance'
5.Stop spending so much and save some money
6.Always have something to look forward to
7.Be more confident with people I don't know well
8.Be more organised, not so 'last minute' with everything
9.Buy a summer dress (that looks good!) from Monsoon
10.Go on holiday this year.

Oh and I nearly forgot -
Update my blog regularly and try to be nice to my husband lol

New Years Eve

Today I'm going for a walk!!! - with two dogs and my grandaughter, no excuses, weather is much better although still cold and there is lots of countryside around me.
I'm going to think about my New Years resolutions and will post them later......

More preparation....

Well.... I've ordered the WW DVD - Move more and 'Pilates for Dummies'!!

I've also been playing around with the blog layout and adding bits and pieces, trying to add a visitor counter but can't find one yet.
Still very cold and windy outside, not very inviting although I know I should at least go for a walk. Even the dog hesitates at the door!!

My 40 a day husband is going to give up smoking for New year - so should be fun in our house!!lol

The planning phase!!

Still working my way through the christmas leftovers!!!
Had a very productive day, searching for my WW shopping book and calculator, updating my spreadsheet, reading other people's blogs and generally getting myself in the right frame of mind to start on saturday.
It's snowing here in the Staffordshire Moorlands and very cold and windy, so I haven't really wanted to go out.
I'm trying to think of what exercise might suit me, I've tried pilates which I enjoyed so might have a go again (in the beginners class!).
I also have a friend who does belly dancing which looks fun, although I don't know if I feel confident enough for that yet.
I really need to get fit as well as lose weight, I have to drive to work and don't tend to walk anywhere really, I struggle to walk far if I do, embarrasing and worrying at my age with no other problem except my weight!

Anyway a new beginning on Saturday so 'I WILL GET FIT'.

I've been brave!!

I've actually added some photos! Surprisingly hard to do as I don't like having my picture taken for obvious reasons, so I've had to cut and paste!
It feels surprisingly cathartic as I am determined that the next ones I post will show a change.
I can never believe how different I look from how I imagine myself to look, particularly my face, I'm always surprised how round it is!!! A good thing really I suppose or I'd never go out!!

The day after Boxing Day

Well..... I'm 46 now and getting closer to my new start i.e 1st January 2010. I've joined two challenges on the 5+ board (WW) and am currently trying to eat my way through all our Christmas goodies!!! ready to fill my fridge with healthy food.

I plan to weigh myself on Saturday 1st Jan and publish some 'before' photos, just working myself up to it!!

The moment of Truth!!!!

As you can see from the ticker I'm 17st 7lb and at 5ft 4in obviously overweight (morbidly obese actually!) and very round! BMI 42.
Only 95lbs or nearly 7st to go!!! Not much then....

If I aim to do it by the end of 2010 that gives me a target of about 1.5 - 2lb a week which should be possible.

First Try

This is my first go at blogging!! Got to try and think of something interesting to say now!

First I have to confess - not my real name sorry, not sure about this yet so thought I'd rather be a bit anonymous at first - all the other stuff is me though!

As the title suggests its about next year and particularly about my New year resolutions and how I succeed (or not as the case may be!). But I thought I'd practise a bit before starting properly.

I'm going to try to add to it every Sunday night at least.

I got the idea from the Weightwatchers 5+ board which has some great bloggers so I guess a lot of this will be about my attempts to lose weight. When I'm brave enough I'll post some 'before' pictures (i.e me now!) but I'm not quite ready for that yet.

I've had lots of attempts at weightloss but with varying degrees of success - hopefully this time it will work.

I'm the sort of person who needs a specific time to start - hence the new years resolution bit, if I start now Christmas will throw me off track and I'll have another failed attempt. However I'm going to try over the next few weeks to eat properly and lose a few pounds before Christmas.
I'll let you know how I get on!
